Are you self-sabotaging your success?

Self-sabotaging is also a type of behavior that creates problems in your daily life and interferes with long-standing goals. It can also undermine your success despite your own wishes, dreams and values.
Basically, when you self-sabotaging, you’re hindering your own success.
You’re getting in the way of the bright future that you could have yet instead you’re consistently choosing damaging behaviors that keep you stuck in a cycle you really aren’t happy to be in.
As you go through this week figuring out the next #BRAVEMOVE that you’re going to take, carve out some time to assess areas in your life where you may be unconsciously or consciously practicing self-sabotaging.
Don’t be afraid to get to the nitty gritty - the root to why these things might be occurring. You could be surprised by what you find or you may already know.
Either way, if need be, seek help so you can correct these behaviors and stay encouraged about the good work you’re doing now.
Making brave moves also means doing the deep, inner work to healthily live the life you truly desire - not the one you’re settling for out of fear that you aren’t good enough or won’t find anything better.
Find out who you are and do it on purpose.
She’s Brave
Pinky Cole raised a social media and IRL frenzy when she launched her infamous restaurant in Atlanta, Slutty Vegan, back in October 2018. Her menu names may have suggestive names that catch your attention, but her drive, dedication and bravery has caught the attention of thousands of people.
Her journey was anything but easy. Before her relaunch in 2018, Cole raised money from family to open her first iteration of Slutty Vegan in Harlem, NY. Unfortunately, the place burned down due to a grease fire. Though it appeared all hope was lost, she didn’t give up.
She kept on towards making her brave moves and keeping her dream alive.
After two years away from the restaurant business, she decided it was time to rebuild - which she did. Getting her start in a local Atlanta community, Slutty Vegan quickly gained traction as lines were wrapped around the block just so people could get a taste of her delicious vegan burgers.
Years after witnessing the fall of her original restaurant, Pinky Cole now celebrates a brand new restaurant in her hometown of Harlem. A place where she struggled to succeed and now a place where she can rejoice and further her mission of providing delicious vegan and healthy food to her community.
Pinky Cole has gone on to build her business to a $100 million net worth in less than five years time. Talk about making brave moves.
There may have been times she wanted to give up. She may have not have known how things were going to work out. But she didn’t give up. She kept going. Despite all obstacles and challenges, she didn’t make excuses for herself. She didn’t wallow in her pain.
She made a plan and saw it through. And she’s not done yet. Her recent restaurant opening proves this to be true.
Affirmation
I am doing the work required of me to see my dreams to fruition. I may not know how things will unfold, but I am confident in the fact that the path before me is beautiful, bright and filled with positive opportunities.
I am the person who can change my life, and my commitment to myself and to my goals allows me to become stronger, braver and wiser.
I walk in my truth. I walk in full faith and refuse to give into my fickle emotions. Instead, I will harness them for my good, learn from them and create the life I truly want to live.
No one else is responsible for my happiness. I choose to do things that grow me and spend time with people who cherish me.
I no longer settle for things that do not allow me to walk in my higher purpose.
I choose greatness. Most of all, I choose myself.
Founder’s Feature
I’ve been reflecting a lot lately. As I reflect on these things, I tell myself not to think too deeply as I don’t want to psych myself out of the opportunities to come. When you’re creating something from your heart and building something that hope brings value to other people’s lives, it can be easy to think too much - to ask too many unnecessary questions.
But if you’re reading this, then I know this newsletter brings value to you, and that I’m doing my job right. However, all feedback is accepted because I’m constantly looking for ways to make things better for BRAVELY’s community.
If there’s something that you’re working towards…something that you’re passionate about, keep doing these things from your heart. Study. Learn. Grow. But never let these things stop flowing from your heart.
Together, we will continue to make #BRAVEMOVES.
You can do anything,
